One-Tap Weight Tracker

Effective date: 31 October 2026 · Applies to One-Tap Weight Tracker for iPhone

One-Tap Weight Tracker ("the app", shown as Weight Tracker on your Home Screen) records your weigh-ins and shows your progress towards a goal weight: a dashboard, a graph with a trend line, and your full history. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and your controls over it. The app keeps your data on your device unless you choose to turn on Apple Health or iCloud.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData storage:

  • your profile — the name you enter, date of birth, height, gender, the optional body fat formula setting, and your start and goal weights and dates;
  • your weigh-ins — each weight, the date and time, and any note you add;
  • simple preferences, such as units, the graph range, the reminder time and whether milestone banners are shown.

Figures such as BMI, the body fat estimate and your averages are worked out on your device each time they are shown; they are not sent anywhere.

Apple Health (optional)

Apple Health is off unless you use it. If you tap Import from Health, the app asks permission to read your body weight from Apple Health and adds those readings to its own history. If you turn on Save weigh-ins to Health, the app asks permission to write, then saves the weigh-ins you record to Apple Health and removes them there when you delete them in the app. The app reads and writes body weight only.

Information from Apple Health stays on your device. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with the developer or any third party. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps → Weight Tracker.

iCloud sync (optional)

iCloud sync is off unless you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, your profile and weigh-ins are stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so they appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. That database belongs to your iCloud account: the developer cannot see or access it. Turning sync off stops further syncing; data already in iCloud can be removed under Settings → [your name] → iCloud.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app asks permission to show notifications and schedules one on your device. Notifications are created locally by your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server.

Widget

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widget reads the same on-device data to show your current weight and progress. It does not store or send anything of its own.

Export and import

You can export your weigh-ins as a CSV file through the system share sheet, and import a CSV file you pick in the Files app. The file is created or read on your device and goes only where you send it; the app does not upload it anywhere.

Information the app does not collect

The app does not:

  • collect or transmit any data to the developer or any third party;
  • use analytics or crash-reporting services;
  • include advertising or in-app purchases;
  • track you across apps or websites owned by other companies;
  • require an account or collect contact details such as your email address.

Your controls and deletion

You can edit or delete any weigh-in from the History screen, and edit your profile in Settings. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. If you turned on iCloud sync, also remove its data from iCloud as described above; if you saved weigh-ins to Apple Health, they can be deleted in the Health app.

Children's privacy

The app is for people aged 13 and over and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Because the app does not collect personal information at all, there is nothing to collect.

Not medical advice

The app's figures, including BMI and the body fat estimate, are general estimates and not medical advice.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes will be reflected in updated app releases.
